Overdrive is a 2017 action thriller directed by Antonio Negret and produced by Pierre Morel. The film stars Scott Eastwood as Andrew foster, Freddie Thorp as Garrett Foster, Ana de Armas as Stephanie and Gaia Weiss as Devin. Scott Eastwood is the son of Clint Eastwood. The movie was made by the same writers of 2 Fast and 2 Furious and the director of Taken. It was released in theaters on November 22, 2017.

This movie is about the legendary Foster brother car thieves who unknowingly steal a classic luxury car from mafia boss Jocomo Morier. The brothers specialize in stealing classic luxury cars. Their target this time is one of only two 1937 Bugatti Type 57 cars in the world that are up for auction.

However, their strategy ends in failure and they are captured by Morier who bought the car at the auction. In order to save their own lives the brothers are told steal a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO owned by Morier’s rival Max Klemp within a week.

The Foster brothers are assisted by a top hacker, a genius pick-pocket and a bomb geek. Together they plan to steal the 38 million Ferrari.

The vintage luxury cars were very beautiful and the view of southern France was also attractive. The chase scene of classic luxury cars in southern France’s cityscape was breathtaking. The story was easy to predict, but the direction was sophisticated, so it wasn’t boring. The Japanese title for the movie is Scramble (スクランブル). The story progresses in a complicated way, just like the title.

The most memorable scene is where the brothers deceive the mafia and steal all of the luxury classic cars. This movie was not a big hit, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t interesting. Car lovers and action movie lovers are sure to be satisfied. The powerful car chase scenes and amazingly beautiful cityscapes are worth watching.
