Iwamizawa Rose Garden

Iwamizawa Park is a large-scale urban park covering 4 hectares and is located in the hilly area in the southeastern part of Iwamizawa, Hokkaido. The Welcome Rose Garden next to the parking lot and the centrally spiral-shaped Rose Garden are full of colorful roses.

There is a greenhouse where you can enjoy flowers and trees and lawns all year round, and a green consultation corner. There are also events such as gardening courses and mini concerts. There are approximately 8,800 strains of 630 plant species in the garden, including roses, there is also an original rose from Iwamizawa called Hermanus . The site is approximately 40,000 square meters, and you can enjoy the flowers from mid-June to mid-October.

Adjacent to the rose garden, there is a lodging garden, restaurants, cafés and shops. You can dine on the outdoor terrace while viewing the rose garden and the surrounding park scenery. In the rose garden, you can find Salicus Vulgaris, Smoke tree, and crawling roses on arches. You can enjoy a three-dimensional effect here and there. Behind the rose garden is a mountain of lush natural forest, with a viewing platform at the top , and a car park nearby.

In the middle of the promenade, you can overlook the outdoor concert hall, an outdoor live venue that can accommodate about 20,000 people. The venue is host to the nationally famous outdoor rock festival “JOIN ALIVE,” which is held within a few days with the arrival of famous singers.

For example, on July 5, 2018, various singers, such as Aimyon and Official Hige Dandism, have come. However, due to the influence of the coronavirus, the outdoor concert JOIN ALIVE was canceled this year. Rose soft cream and rose miscellaneous are sold there. There is also a pizza restaurant next door which is the only Neapolitan pizza restaurant in the Sorachi region. There is also a restaurant and souvenir shop in the park. The restaurant is open from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., but the last order is at 2:30 p.m . It’s closed on Wednesdays.

There is a scarlet Iwamizawa rose that was created in Iwamizawa City, which is rich in nature. Using the petals collected from the Rose Garden of the famous Iwamizawa Park, you will find fragrant and elegant perfumes. It is characterized by the scent of “Fresh Green Rose” that imitates the bud of a young blue rose and the excellent moisturizing effect of “Hemanaus extract.” Rather than the usual rose perfume, the fresh rose bud-like scent relaxes your mind and makes you feel positive. Not only the user, but also the surroundings may feel more energetic. The natural scent of Scarlet Iwamizawa is also recommended for those who are sensitive to scents.
