In Sapporo, there are many big events held in autumn that are very popular. One of them is the Sapporo Autumn Fest. This festival is a food event that started in 2008 and is held at Odori Park in Sapporo to celebrate the autumn harvest and for people to enjoy the flavors.
The theme of the festival is “Food from Hokkaido and Sapporo.” This event aims to revitalize Hokkaido by serving seasonal ingredients and local gourmet food from all over Hokkaido, and to play a role in spreading the word about Hokkaido cuisine.
You can enjoy food from all over Hokkaido, including specialty products and local gourmet food and the event is centered around Sapporo’s taverns and restaurants. Odori Park is divided into several booths at the Autumn Fest, and there is a gourmet food stamp rally held at the Sapporo City booth, Obihiro booth, Hakodate booth, and Asahikawa booth. By completing this stamp rally, you can receive prizes from the four major gourmet foods.
This year the festival was held at Odori Park 4-chome to 8-chome, and 10-chome and 11-chome. Each street had a different concept, offering ramen made with Hokkaido wheat, specialty products from municipalities in Hokkaido, and wines and sake made with Hokkaido ingredients and brewing.
No matter how many times you visit during the event, you'll be able to discover new tastes, such as cocktails, delicious Hokkaido meat and sweets, and even a corner where you can enjoy special dishes made by popular and famous chefs using Hokkaido ingredients that change daily.
This event, which was held during September, attracted many tourists from both within and outside of Hokkaido as well as from overseas, and was crowded with visitors every day from noon to night.
The 2023 Sapporo Autumn Fest executive committee announced on the 2nd of October that the number of visitors was 2.38 million, which was 1.5 times more than last year, and the highest number ever.
札幌の秋の一大イベント「さっぽろオータムフェスト」

札幌では秋に大きなイベントが開催され、多くの人で賑わいます。その一つが、さっぽろオータムフェストです。このイベントは2008年にスタートした、秋の収穫を祝い味覚を楽しむため、札幌の大通公園で開催される食のイベントです。
同イベントは「北海道と札幌の食」をテーマに、道内各地の旬の食材やご当地グルメを提供することで北海道の活性化を目指し、全道各地の「食」を発信する役割を担うことを目的としています。
札幌の居酒屋・レストランを中心に道内各地の特産品やご当地グルメなど、全道各地の食をお楽しみいただけます。また、オータムフェストでは広い大通公園をいくつかのブースに分け、札幌市ブース、帯広ブース、函館ブース、旭川ブースで4大グルメスタンプラリーが開催されます。このスタンプラリーをクリアすると、4大グルメの賞品がもらえます。
今年、このイベントは、大通公園4丁目から8丁目と、10丁目、11丁目で行われた。通りごとにコンセプトを変え、北海道産小麦を使用したラーメンや道内自治体の特産品、道産食材や醸造にこだわったワインや日本酒などを提供しています。
期間中何度訪れても、カクテルや北海道の美味しいお肉やスイーツ、人気・有名シェフによる北海道食材を日替わりで使った特製料理を楽しめるコーナーなど、何度訪れても新たな美味しさに出会えます。
9月に開かれたこのイベントには、道内、道外からの観光客だけでなく、海外からの観光客も多く来場し、毎日昼から夜まで多くの来場客でにぎわいました。「2023さっぽろオータムフェスト」実行委員会は10月2日、来場者数が昨年の1.5倍となる238万人となり、過去最高を記録したと発表しました。
