The History of Voreas Volleyball Team

Voleas Hokkaido is a men's professional volleyball team based in Asahikawa City, Hokkaido, Japan. Established in 2016, Voleas Hokkaido joined the V.League Organization as a provisional member team. The team primarily uses the Asahikawa City General Sports Center as its home venue.

However, due to its limited seating capacity, especially after promotion to V2, larger facilities such as the Asahikawa Taisetsu Arena are also utilized concurrently. In the inaugural season of 2017, Voleas Hokkaido achieved victory in the V Challenge League II, marking their debut participation.

Subsequently, they obtained an S3 license for the newly established V. LEAGUE and entered Division 3 in the following year. In the V. LEAGUE’s first season in 2018, they clinched the V3 championship. With the acquisition of an S2 license, they secured promotion to DIVISION 2.

For the 2019-20 season, having acquired an S1 license, Voleas Hokkaido earned the opportunity to participate in the V-Challenge Match, a competition where a finish within the top two in V2 would lead to promotion to DIVISION 1.

However, due to the impact of the novel coronavirus, V2 was prematurely terminated with two games remaining. Unfortunately, Voleas Hokkaido fell just short in points against Fujitsu Kawasaki Red Spirits, who were leading in victories, resulting in a close but commendable runner-up finish.

In the 2022-23 season, Voleas Hokkaido achieved back-to-back victories in V2 with a record of 25 wins and 2 losses, securing their fourth opportunity to participate in the V-Challenge Match. Despite facing Oita Miyoshi, the same opponent they had lost to in the 2020-21 Challenge Match, they emerged victorious, realizing their long-cherished dream of promotion to V1.

Voleas is now pushing forward, aiming for victory in V1 and relentlessly pursuing success in each upcoming match.

ヴォレアスの歴史

ヴォレアス北海道は、北海道旭川市を本拠地とする男子プロバレーボールチームである。

2016年にヴォレアス北海道を設立し、Vリーグ機構に準加盟チームとして加盟し、本拠地としては旭川市総合体育館を主に使用しているが、収容人員が少ない関係から、V2昇格後は旭川大雪アリーナなどの大規模施設も併用する形となっている。

初参戦となった2017年シーズンにVチャレンジリーグIIで優勝を果たした。また、翌年度より始まる新生V.LEAGUEのS3ライセンスを取得し、同リーグDivision3に参入することとなった。V.LEAGUE初年度の2018年シーズンでV3優勝を果たす。S2ライセンスを取得したため、DIVISION2昇格ともなった。

2019-20シーズン、S1ライセンスを取得し、V2で2位以内に入ればDIVISION1(V1)昇格をかけて挑むV・チャレンジマッチに出場できることとなった 。しかし、新型コロナウイルスの影響で2試合を残してV2が打ち切りとなり、勝利数で首位を並走する富士通カワサキレッドスピリッツにポイントで及ばず惜しくも準優勝となった。

2022-23シーズン、V2にて25勝2敗でV2連覇を達成し、4度目のV・チャレンジマッチ出場権を獲得。対戦相手は2020-21のチャレンジマッチで敗れた大分三好となったが、勝利し、悲願のV1昇格となった。これからヴォレアスはV1で優勝を目指して目の前の勝利に向けて突き進んでいる。
