Sanrio Theme Parks in Japan

Have you ever been to any of the Sanrio theme parks? There are two in Japan: Sanrio Puroland in Tama City, Tokyo, and Harmonyland in Oita. There are similarities and differences between the two.

Sanrio Puroland is Japan's first indoor theme park. Equipped with air conditioning, you can enjoy the theme park at a comfortable temperature and humidity. Additionally, some attractions are held in complete darkness, so that you can enjoy the light show effects. The most popular attraction is the Sanrio Character Boat Ride. It’s a cruise where you can enjoy seeing Sanrio characters from the boat.

Since Harmonyland is located in Kyushu, you will likely feel hot. Unlike Sanrio Puroland, it is an outdoor theme park, so if the weather is bad, roller coasters and such may cease operation.

Harmonyland has fewer visitors compared to Puroland. The reason is simple: its location is not very convenient. Even from Fukuoka, which has one of the major airports in Kyushu, it takes at least two hours to get there. Despite this, you can fully enjoy the attractions once you arrive.

Sanrio Puroland and Harmonyland share common features, such as character greetings and shows. You can meet Kuromi, My Melody, and Aggretsuko at either facility, and of course, you will have a great time.

サンリオのテーマパークに行ったことはありますか？日本には２つあり、東京都多摩市のサンリオピューロランド、大分県のハーモニーランドです。それらには共通点と相違点があります。

サンリオピューロランドは日本で最初の室内型テーマパークです。エアコンが備わっているため、快適な温度と湿度でテーマパークを楽しむことができます。さらに、いくつかのアトラクションは完全に暗闇の中で開催されるため、光の効果を楽しむことができます。最も人気なアトラクションはサンリオボートライドです。ボートに乗って、サンリオキャラクターを眺めて楽しめるクルーズです。

ハーモニーランドは九州にあるので暑いと思われます。サンリオピューロランドとは異なり屋外のテーマパークであるため、天候が悪い場合、ジェットコースターなどは運行を停止することがあります。

ハーモニーランドはピューロランドに比べ人が少ないです。理由は簡単で、その場所が不便なためです。九州でメジャーな空港がある福岡からでさえ、そこに行くまでに最低２時間はかかります。とはいえ、現地に到着さえすれば、アトラクションを心ゆくまで満喫できます。
