Teaching Practice

In order to become a teacher, we have to do teaching practice for a few weeks at the high school or junior high school that we graduate from. I did my teaching practice from May 6th to June 3rd. I went to Yoichi Asahi junior high school, which is the school I graduated from. This term of teaching practice is an important experience for students who want to get a teaching license.
The first day, I was very nervous and had anxiety doing my teaching practice for four weeks, but students sang a song to help me relax. During teaching practice, students helped me. When I had a class for the first time, I was really nervous, but students took my class very seriously. One student consoled me when I didn’t have a good lesson, and said, “Your class is interesting for me, and I like it.” It was helpful for me. I thought that I’m blessed with kind students.
When I did my teaching practice, I made lesson plans with curriculum guidelines. I couldn’t make sense of them for the first time, but I made an effort to make good lessons with them. It was difficult for me to make good lessons that students learn English with fun. So I didn’t know what to do.
During those four weeks, there were a lot of accidents. A student broke his arm when we had a club activity and an ambulance came, and another student suddenly fainted, so I missed lunch. I didn’t know what to do and was really confused, but the teachers dealt with those problems and they were really calm and collected. I respect them so much and want to be like them.
After my teaching practice, I had to take the teacher employment exam, so I really studied hard. And now, I’m waiting for my result. I had a wonderful time with students during my teaching practice. I realize that I want to be a good teacher for students. I’ll make an effort to be a teacher.
